Bedwetting / Enuresis
Children develop complete control over their bladders at different ages. Nighttime dryness is usually the last stage of toilet learning. When children wet the bed more than twice per month after age 5 or 6, it’s called bedwetting or nocturnal enuresis.
 
Children who were dry for at least 6 months and then started wetting again have secondary enuresis. There are many reasons that children wet the bed after being fully toilet trained. It might be physical, emotional or just a change in sleep.

Here are some of the causes of bedwetting:
— Genetic factors (weakness manifested by toxicity / lack of minerals / emotional suppression)
— Food allergies / leaky gut
— Constipation
— Adrenal fatigue (adrenals help to regulate fluid balance in the body)
— Fear
— Mineral imbalance (magnesium deficiency in particular may be the root cause)
— Weakness of kidneys and bladder
— Difficulties waking up from sleep
— Stress & other emotional/mind factors
— High EMFs in the sleeping area
— A small bladder
— Slower than normal development of the central nervous system (which reduces the child’s ability to stop the bladder from emptying at night)
— Hormonal factors (not enough antidiuretic hormone is produced, which is the hormone that slows urine production at night)
— Urinary tract infections
— Abnormalities in the urethral valves in boys or in the ureter in girls/boys
— Blood sugar issues (hypoglycemia)
— Abnormalities in spinal cord.
Children who have never been consistently dry at night have primary enuresis. This usually occurs when the body makes more urine overnight than the bladder can hold, and the child does not wake up when the bladder is full. The child’s brain has not learned to respond to the signal that the bladder is full. (Test for Physica Energetics Hypothal Code or Physica Energetics Rehydrate.)
 
Bedwetting runs strongly in families, which means we must look for the root cause in the story. There’s toxicity or lack of minerals or emotional suppression that’s being carried over and re-activated. 
 
Note: If a child tends to wet themselves during the day, they may have a urinary tract infection.
 
More than 5 million children in the U.S. wet the bed. About 9% of boys and 6% of girls still wet the bed at age 7. The numbers drop slightly by age 10. Although the problem goes away over time, many children and even a small number of adults continue to have bedwetting episodes.
 
 
Questions to ask:
— What does the child’s poop tell you about their health?
— How much water are they drinking? When are they drinking it? Is it being assimilated?
— What does their constitution say about them? How strong is it?
— Communication from their spine/structure?
— What other communication besides bedwetting is the child giving you?
— What’s their health history? Starting from conception.
— Toxicity? Remember, kidneys do not fully develop until age 2. If there is a lot of added toxicity in the first couple years of life, the kidneys will become incredibly taxed.
— Emotional health?
— Energetics (Run a NES scan — incorporate infoceuticals to start strengthening the blueprint!!)

Canker Sores
A small painful ulcer usually in the mouth is called a canker sore. It has a grayish-white base surrounded by a red inflamed area.
 
Canker Sores: Festering words held back by the lips. Blame.
 
Canker sores can also tell us a story of the pH of a body — canker sores can arise in tissues that are too acidic. In this case, mineralization is a key part of the story! Immediate alkalizing relief can come from a salt or baking soda mouth rinse.
 
Digging Deeper:
— More complicated and repeating cases of canker sores is an offering to see if there is more to the story:
— Hormone imbalance
— Gut bacteria imbalance
— Immune deficiency

Goldenseal, taken internally and applied topically, is very effective at healing canker sores.

L-lysine is an amino acid that helps prevent canker sores.
 
Where canker sores are frequent and severe, VS-C taken regularly will help to prevent them.
 
Compressing the area with a steeped chamomile tea bag can also provide relief.

 
Kitchen medicine: Steep sage leaves like you would a tea. Remove the leaves and allow the liquid to cool. Use as a mouth rinse to relieve pain and promote healing.

Castor Oil Packs

Castor oil packs are a form of compress that you can apply to an affected area using heated castor oil, a piece of flannel material and a heat source.

Castor oil packs help promote healing in the body. The castor oil reduces inflammation and draws lymphatic fluid to an area, resulting in wonderful detoxification.

The best thing about these soothing, non-invasive packs is that you can use them on pretty much any problem area:
— Joints and injuries
— Abdominal and bowel distress
— Cysts
— Bone spurs
— Inflamed kidneys, gallbladder, congested liver
— Almost anything and everything can benefit from the calming effects of castor oil.

To apply a castor oil pack:
1. Slowly heat a small amount of castor oil on a stovetop to a warm/moderate temperature (never heat it in the microwave).
2. Saturate the piece of flannel material in the castor oil. Flannel is a great heat conductor, though a plain washcloth will work in a pinch.
3. Place the soaked flannel over the problem area. You may want to wrap the area with plastic wrap to contain the oil, as it can stain.
4. Place a warm compress over the flannel, preferably a hot, moist towel. A hot water bottle or a heating pad will work as well.
5. Let the area sit in this soothing warmth for about 30 minutes, re-heating more towels as necessary.

Applying essential oils to the area before applying the castor oil will support even greater healing. The combination of the castor oil and the heat will drive the essential oil deeper into the body to perform its therapeutic work.

This brand of castor oil, Heritage Store, is a favorite. Be sure to check out your local health food store or a trusted source to be sure the oil is not tampered with and is handled properly


Cell Receptor Cleansing With Essential Oils

All along your cells’ membranes, there are molecules called cell receptor sites. Cell receptor sites are the points of attachment for proteins, hormones, neurotransmitters and other cell activators. They are also points of attachment for things like pharmaceutical drugs and environmental toxins. 

These receptor sites provide a way for the cell to receive signals from outside of the cell. When a substance binds to a cell receptor site, the cell is then directed to perform a function. There are hundreds of different types of cell receptor sites with so many different and specific functions. Some direct the cell to allow specific substances to enter or exit the cell. Some sites receive communication that instructs the cell to produce a hormone (e.g., certain cells are told to produce leptin, a hormone that lets us know when we’ve eaten enough and are full). There are sites that receive communication that signal a cell to duplicate more quickly. There are even sites that will receive communication instructing the cell to die. 

Each type binds only to certain shapes — think of a lock and key! Some foods (like wheat), toxins, and other chemicals (like estrogen-mimicking molecules in plastics) are shaped almost like natural substances, but not quite. When these “almost” substances meet the receptor sites, they have the ability to block the sites or “gum them up.” This can completely stop or change a function of the cell! 

So what can we do? Clean, rebuild, reprogram!

1. Clean — We are able to clean the cell receptor sites by using essential oils that are high in phenols. This is a component of an essential oil that makes it “hot” or causes the skin to tingle or burn a little if applied undiluted. Some high-phenol cell receptor site cleaners are clove, cinnamon, oregano, peppermint, thyme and wintergreen.

2. Deprogram/Rebuild — We are able to deprogram misinformation within cells and rebuild cell receptor sites by using essential oils that are high in sesquiterpenes. Though this component is abundant in many essential oils, some have more! These oils tend to be soothing to irritated skin and calming. They work as liver and gland stimulants. Sesquiterpenes have the ability to pass through the blood-brain barrier and can increase oxygen to the pineal and pituitary glands. Cell receptor site building essential oils are Frankincense, 3 Wise Men, Cedarwood, Ginger, Myrrh, Patchouli, Yarrow, and Ylang Ylang.

3. Reprogram — We use monoterpenes to reprogram cells. A monoterpene is a constituent that occurs in nearly all essential oils. And, like there is a vast amount of functions attributed to our own cell receptor sites, monoterpenes have many functions as well. From antiseptic to antitumoral and antifungal to hypotensive (and many more inbetween), the value of monoterpenes lies within their ability to stimulate and soothe. Some good reprogramming oils include lemon, orange, lavender, black pepper and angelica root. 

The How:
— Choose an oil from each category.
— Week 1: Apply 1 drop of oil to the bottom of each foot from the “clean” category.
— Week 2: Apply 1 drop of oil to the bottom of each foot from the “deprogram/rebuild” category.
— Week 3: Apply 1 drop of oil to the bottom of each foot from the “reprogram” category.
— Week 4/week 1: Either rest on week 4 or start the process over at week 1.
Continue this weekly rotation for several months and then stop.

Chiropractic Adjustments (Support/ Holding)
Typically, most people think a chiropractic adjustment moves a bone from an abnormal position back into place. This is not precisely what happens. A vertebra is not fixed in place; it is a bone-joint complex that has a normal range of motion. When there is a subluxation, the bone can’t move properly. Either it’s locked outside of its normal range, or it has been patterned into an abnormal way of moving. The adjustment is designed to unlock the joint from its locked position or abnormal way of moving. It does this by gently pushing the joint behind the lock to the limit of its passive range of motion.
 
If the normal range of motion is restored quickly following an injury or trauma (physical, mental, emotional), it will affect the way new tissue forms in the injured area. Instead of a chaotic mass of scar tissue, the new cells are laid down in lines associated with the stress of a normal motion. Reintroducing motion helps the joint heal better and stretches the new cells as they are forming. The new tissue forms in a way that accommodates proper functioning of the joint.
 
The other symptom commonly associated with a fixed joint is a muscle spasm. When a joint becomes locked, the muscles around it lock up, too, holding the joint even more firmly in place. The thrust and motion of the chiropractic adjustment interrupts the muscle spasm, breaking the feedback loop and allowing the muscles to relax. Once the loop is broken, the muscle can then return to its normal state, allowing the joint to move more freely.
 
Finally, and most important, the adjustment also helps to flush out the inflammatory soup and restore normal communication between nerves and the spinal cord. It’s almost like pushing the reset button on your neural computer, because it normalizes the neurological function in the area. As the spine and nervous system heal, Innate Intelligence once again flows clearly, quickly and cleanly throughout the body, as it is meant to. The body naturally begins to let go of stored pain and disease.
 
Many “obstacles to cure” regarding holding adjustments include adequate hydration, trace minerals, adrenal and other endocrine function, emotional and mental instabilities, xenobiotics such as parasites, candida, mycoplasmas, viruses, bacteria, EMFs, etc.

Most feet issues are linked to structure issues.
 
Pathogens love hiding out along the spine. For instance, scoliosis is a virus/bacteria in many cases that lies dormant or active along the spine. These pathogens create inflammation, which controls and disfigures the spinal column. Raindrop therapy combined with chiropractic / naturopathic care is a powerful combo.

Valor Essential Oil

Valor essential oil is nicknamed “Chiropractor in a Bottle” because it helps support the body’s electrical and nervous system. You can apply it before and/or after chiropractic adjustments to support the “holding.”
 
For emotional strength: 
Rub a few drops of Valor oil over the heart, neck, wrists and on the bottom of each foot. Valor also helps increase feelings of confidence, strength and self-esteem where courage is needed.

Back aches: 
Apply Valor to bottoms of feet and spine.

Joint aches: 
Add a few drops of Valor to vegetable oil, such as coconut or jojoba oil, and apply to the area.

Jaw discomfort: 
Rub Valor on the jaw before bed and in the morning as needed.

Anxiety: 
Rub a few drops on feet, neck and chest. Breathe deeply.

Sleep apnea:

We hear you here at Team FEM, and we know you’ve heard us. Foundational support will ALWAYS be THE most important thing we can focus on when it comes to building immunity of any kind.

As we’re on this journey together, we want to lay out some clear guidelines as to what we mean by that:

— Eat foods to boost immunity, alkalize the body and fortify cell membranes.
— Eat pastured (not pasteurized) organic eggs, animal proteins and healthy fats — you need good, quality fats to reinforce strong cellular membranes (saturated fats also protect your lungs). RNA viruses can more easily get into unhealthy cells that have poor membrane integrity. Also RNA viruses have a harder time getting into cells when the virus has a medium-chain triglyceride attached to it. Coconut oil is an excellent source of lauric acid, which is a building block of medium-chain triglycerides. Consider eating coconut oil and other healthy fats by the spoonful or melting them into warm beverages, soups or stews.
— Eat less or no refined carbs.
— Avoid foods that trigger you. Without testing, a good way to know if a food is triggering for you is to sit down and to eat a meal with intention, chewing slowly. How does the food make you feel after you’ve eaten? Do you feel cold, overheated, bloated? Do your joints ache? Do you have brain fog? These are signs that your body is experiencing difficulty in interacting with what you’ve just eaten.
— Eat fermented foods. Sauerkraut is SO high in vitamin C and can be made quickly and easily right in the comfort of your own home. All you need is cabbage, Real Salt or Celtic Salt, water, and a clean mason jar. 
— Eat medicinal mushrooms to improve and modulate your immune system. Mycelia Intrinsic from Physica Energetics holds an absolutely beautiful blend of medicinal mushrooms (see ordering and dosage instructions below).
— Avoid wheat and corn due to pesticide residue, mold, fungus and the decrease they cause in immune function. These may seem like go-to pantry options, but they are some of the most inflammatory foods out there!
— REMEMBER, sugar suppresses immune system function for 6 hours after ingestion.
— Protect yourself from EMFs.
      — Take time to step AWAY from phones and screens. Turn Wi-Fi off and turn off devices or put them in airplane mode whenever you can.

Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT, is based on the discovery that imbalances in the body’s energy system have profound effects on one’s personal psychology. Correcting these imbalances, which is done by tapping on certain areas of the body, often leads to rapid remediation.

Since its original development as a technique, many versions and even shortcuts have appeared; this manual includes a simple, highly workable version for the everyday person. Please feel free to familiarize yourself with some of the other different versions and utilize whichever ones work best for you and/or your clients.

Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, made a realization that the quality of one's life was directly related to their emotional health. He also realized that traditional methods for addressing emotions were not always successful, because they aim to address the emotion and/or the traumatic memory that was the precursor to the emotion.

There is, actually, an intermediate step: the traumatic memory creates a disruption in the body's energy system, and this disruption is what creates the negative emotion. In fact, his discovery statement and the essence behind EFT is that "the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

WHEN YOU CLEAR THE ENERGY - YOU CLEAR THE EMOTION.

The Basic Recipe for EFT:

The job of The Setup is to remove any polarity reversal or psychologic reversal that is the result of subconscious self-defeating, negative thinking. The Setup is done by repeating an affirmation three times while rubbing the "Sore Spot" or tapping the "Karate Chop" point. 

The affirmation is: Even though I have this ____3X____, I deeply and completely love and accept
myself.

The blank is filled in with a brief description of the problem you want to address, such as: headache, fear of public speaking, anger towards my father, craving for junk food, anxiety, disappointment, not enough time, resistance, etc.

The "Sore Spot" corresponds with the K-27 meridian points below the collarbone in the area of the upper chest; either spot, left or right, can be rubbed. The "Karate Chop" point (KC) corresponds with the fleshy part of the outside of the hand between the little finger and wrist. Gary says that you could tap either hand, though it is usually most convenient to use two finger tips of your dominant hand to tap the KC of the nondominant hand. In deciding whether to rub the "Sore Spot" or tap the KC, Gary asserts that the "Sore Spot" is a bit more effective than tapping the KC point.

The Sequence involves tapping on the end points of the major energy meridians; this is the method by which the energy disruption is cleared and balanced. Tap with the fingertips of your index and middle finger; tap solidly but not hard. Tap about 7 times on each point while repeating a "reminder phrase." It does not matter on which side of the body you tap or if you switch sides during The Sequence. 

The points:
• TOH — Top of Head
• EB — EyeBrow, on the inside of the eyebrow closest to the nose
• SE — Side of the Eye, on the bone bordering the outside corner of the eyes
• UE — Under the Eye, on the bone under the eye about 1 inch below the pupil
• UN — Under the Nose, on the area between the bottom of your nose and the top of the upper lip
• CH — Chin, midway between the point of the chin and the bottom of the lower lip
• CB — Collarbone, go to the junction where the collarbone and the sternum meet, then go down 1 inch and laterally 1 inch
• UA — Under the Arm, at a point even with the nipple about 4 inches below the armpit
The “reminder phrase” is a word or short phrase that describes the problem, and you repeat it out loud each time you tap one of the points in The Sequence. Use the key words from The Setup phrase in the "reminder phrase.”

I also like to include words like “I’m deleting/removing/releasing/letting go of…. Whatever it is that you’re working on as the problem.

The 9 Gamut Procedure helps to "fine tune" the brain using eye movement, humming, and counting. It is about a 10 second process wherein 9 of these brain stimulating actions are performed while continuously tapping on one of the body's energy points: The Gamut Point. This routine can add efficiency to the EFT process and hasten your progress.

The Gamut Point is located on the back of either hand, ½ inch behind the midpoint between the knuckles at the base of the ring finger and the little finger.
The Gamut actions to be performed while tapping the Gamut Point continuously are:
• Eyes closed
• Eyes open
• Eyes hard down right while holding head steady forward
• Eyes hard down left while holding head steady forward
• Roll eyes in circles as though your nose was at the center of a clock
• Reverse the direction and roll the eyes the other way
• Hum 2 seconds of a song (like Happy Birthday)
• Count rapidly from 1 to 5
• Hum 2 seconds of a song again

Finally, repeat The Sequence again. Only this time use words like, “I’m inserting/allowing/accepting/inputting — and then choose positive vibration words like love/peace/freedom/balance/relaxation/expansion, happiness/joy…

At the end, tap top of head and say, “Upgrade accepted. And so it is.”

I often get asked what I personally do to support my growing child’s health in an imperfect world.

When you think about it, it’s a nerve-racking time to be a parent… We’re seeing unprecedented
cases of children with chronic dis-ease, behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, anxieties,
depression, food allergies, eczema, asthma, inflammatory bowel dis-ease, autoimmune conditions
and the list goes on…

But living in fear serves no one. And honestly, fear just weakens the immune system further.

Instead of fearing encounters with toxins, germs or other pathogens, I simply do my best to avoid
what I can and work to enhance my child’s resilience.

This means embracing real prevention and nourishing his body with good things, like real food,
herbs, vitamins, minerals, amino acids. It even means embracing germs (yes E M B R A C I N G) and
dirt to encourage a more diverse microbiome. This gives him a body that is well-prepared when
faced with inevitable challenges along the way of growing up.

When our children are strong, their cells naturally flush the nasty things. This built-in mechanism
keeps the bad guys from accumulating in the body and overloading the system. And really, a simple
way of understanding chronic dis-ease is to see it as a system overload (mineral depletion combined
with toxic overload — aka not enough of the good and too much of the bad).

Remember: It should never be your desire to avoid small (acute) illnesses. Instead, welcome them
(without interfering with prescription or over-the-counter medication!) and know that they are your
child’s opportunities to flex their immunity muscles AND build resilience. Small illnesses provide
priceless opportunities for your child’s body to develop the skills necessary for lifelong health.

A Fiercely Empowered Mama knows that acute illness is really just an opportunity for the child to grow.

Instead of trying to prevent illness, think about ways to fill in the gaps so that when your child does
get sick, they bounce back quickly! And know that your strong commitment to prevention is going
to radically change how their body is able to show up to the saturation of toxins that we live in — not
just now, but in their future.

 …Because the foundation for a long, healthy life starts in childhood.

Here’s an inside look at steps I take to raise my child with nourishment and real prevention at the
forefront.
Daily Foundation
Clean, Filtered Water — Hydration is key not only for you, but for your kiddo. Our bodies are more
than 70% water; if your child is not drinking enough water (preferably pure reverse osmosis water
that’s been remineralized with real salt or trace minerals), then his body’s functions are being carried
out at less-than-optimum levels.

Dehydration is the greatest cause of mineral deficiency — specifically, magnesium deficiency.
Magnesium is necessary for brain function, calm nerves, vital intellect and sharp memory.

Since water is the regulator of all the body’s functions, it’s equated with LIFE. (This step is also key for
cavity prevention, as magnesium is essential for the absorption and metabolism of calcium, ensuring
the strength and firmness of bones, which make teeth harder.)

FEM Bonus: Add a splash of apple cider vinegar to one serving of water per day. Apple cider vinegar
has many beneficial health properties, but I particularly love it because it contains bacteria that
can metabolize (break down) glyphosate. Glyphosate is everywhere, and children’s snack food is
particularly saturated.

Outside Time — This is so key. I’ve noticed that my kiddo clients who spend time outside are often
my healthiest and HAPPIEST clients. Fresh air, dirt, sunshine, exposure to all sorts of pathogens
living in the soil and air… all are incredibly healing! If you do nothing else, commit to this sacred time
outside.

Nourishment — From the time they are in the womb, children most need protein (ideally, from
grass-fed, raised-with-love animals) and saturated fat (think animal fats, like pasture-raised butter,
ghee and tallow; and coconut oil). Saturated fat is grounding and warming. It’s essential for the
absorption of many nutrients, the production of hormones and the function of certain enzymes.
The benefits of saturated fat include a reduction in sugar cravings, a better mood, stable blood
sugar (limiting the crashes) and optimal digestion support. If your kiddo is often on the verge of
meltdowns, make sure they get lots of butter breaks!

Nourishing Beverages — Include one or more of the following: raw milk, herbal infusions, bone
broth and fresh pressed green juice. If cavities are an issue, you’ll absolutely want to consider the
healing benefits of raw milk.

Proper Rest — Sleep is key in allowing the body to rest and repair. There’s so much work that the
body needs to do during these hours… and when we miss, it sure adds up!

Generous Use of UNREFINED SALT — This is a vital, essential substance that we absolutely cannot
live without. It’s packed with essential minerals and supplies the body with a proper balance of
sodium and chloride with over 80 trace minerals. Refined salt, on the other hand, contains zero trace
minerals. Even most “sea salt” that is available has been highly processed, iodized and bleached to
make it a pretty white color. Consider using real salt generously with food and with a pinch in water
or any liquid beverage, really. Some of my mama clients simply leave a dish of coarse real salt on the
counter and their kids just grab a pinch as they intuitively need a pick-me-up.

Raw Local Honey — Raw honey is said to strengthen the etheric field. With 5G (an extremely
concentrated form of electromagnetic radiation) rolling out, we need all the strength we can get!
Raw honey has exceptionally high concentrations of enzymes and is rich in amino acids, minerals
and vitamins. It helps benefit the immune system, liver and brain! One teaspoon a day of raw, local
honey is extremely nourishing and a great sweet treat for kiddos age 2 and older

Almost Daily — Filling in the Gaps
Morning
Cod Liver Oil — Cod liver oil contains omega-3 essential fatty acids and, more importantly, fatsoluble vitamin A, vitamin D and some vitamin K2. The benefits of adequate vitamin A, vitamin D
and vitamin K2 in a child’s diet are significant and numerous, including a healthy bone structure,
straight teeth, a higher IQ, an increased lung capacity, a lowered risk for autoimmune dis-ease and
a markedly reduced risk for respiratory infection, among many others. Once you implement cod
liver oil, you may notice that your child fights off cold and flu bugs better (resilience), and is less high
strung or agitated… Hello, nourished nervous system. I’m a bit biased to the Rosita brand.

Vitamin D3 — Vitamin D3 is primarily known for its role in aiding calcium absorption. However, it
does so much more. Low levels of vitamin D3 are linked to an increased susceptibility to chronic
dis-ease. D3 helps modulate the immune system and promotes anti-tumoral activity in the body.
It is crucial for aiding in the replication of healthy cells. The dosage of vitamin D3 will vary greatly
depending on the age of the child, the current climate/weather (are the eyes and skin getting
exposure to sunlight?), and whether or not you’re using cod liver oil.

Vitamin C — Vitamin C is extremely important for the immune system, tissue integrity and adrenal
function (stress, fatigue, etc.). It has antibacterial, antioxidant, antiseptic and nutritive properties. It
can be used to both prevent and address colds, viral infections, allergies and more. With antioxidant
and anti-inflammatory properties, vitamin C has been shown to be effective for reducing the
severity and symptoms of colds, and it has a long history of boosting the immune system.

Enzymes — Enzymes break down fats, carbs and protein into nutrients that be absorbed and used
to build developing body systems. This need varies based on your child’s blood type and diet. For
instance, my child is a blood type A and he needs added support when breaking down animal
protein.

An Essential Oil for the Day — Essential oils are so oxygenating to your brain and supportive to
your immune system. This is a great way for your kiddo to use their intuition to see what they need
most for the day. Only use wild-crafted, organic essential oils that are safely processed (never buy
essential oils from a store and never trust fancy labeling... always do your research). And always
dilute hot oils as necessary, or only provide safe selections.

CBD Oil — CBD oil activates the endocannabinoid system, which is your child’s master regulator for
homeostasis. The best part about CBD oil is that it’s incredibly calming to the body. Our children are
stressed… they are getting high exposure to EMFs, the world is moving at rapid pace, the demands in
school settings have never been higher, and the list goes on. Just a few drops of a full spectrum CBD
oil work brilliantly to calm the body and mind and help shift the body appropriately from a state of
fight-or-flight to a state of rest, digest and repair.

Trace Minerals — Minerals are the foundation for the enzyme activity in the body and serve as
catalysts for energy cycles and functions. The body must first have minerals in order to make
vitamins and cannot even make use of incoming vitamins (regardless of the source) without
minerals. A few of my favorite ways to focus on minerals with kiddos include using Real Salt
generously, adding trace minerals to water, drinking herbal infusions and/or using cell salts.

Healthy cells are essential for a healthy body, and cells salts can be used to restore balance in
the body’s cells. These are the builders and the workers of the body. Cell salts are homeopathic
preparations of the mineral compounds that are found within all living things. This is one of
the simplest, most affordable and most effective remedies to begin adding to your child’s diet.
BioPlasma is a combination of all 12 cells salts and is a great place to start. Pour them into the cap,
then under your child’s tongue, and they will absolutely take them happily. If you do only this one
thing, you’ll likely notice some positive changes in overall vitality.
Evening
Friendly Flora — Probiotics aid in the digestion and absorption of nutrients, and they help
maintain a proper balance of friendly intestinal flora. This leads to a stronger immune system and a
happy brain. If your child is spending a lot of time outside of the home in a school setting or day care,
please know that, especially now, they are being exposed to high amounts of chemicals (all the
cleaning/sanitizing) and likely more sugar. Higher toxins and sugar both weaken the immune system.
To help keep the microbiome balanced and strong, be sure to switch up the flora routinely to create
diversity.

Flower Remedies — This is a safe and natural method of healing that gently restores the balance
between mind and body and works beautifully with children. Flower remedies absolutely support
the wide-range of emotions that surface from the hard work of growing up. Think about it… kids
are really the sponges of the home. Whatever emotions you are suppressing, they are feeding off
of. It’s so important to constantly clear! Especially, because we know that suppressed emotions are
most often at the root of all dis-ease. Flower remedies work by casting out negative emotions such
as fear, worry, hatred and indecision, which interfere with the equilibrium of being as a whole. The
Flower remedies allow peace and happiness to return so that the body is free to heal itself. The best
approach is to have a naturopath assess which flower remedies are most needed to support this
time of life for your child and make a custom blend. However, you could also order individually and
start by matching the description of the remedy to the need of your child. (Note: Rescue Remedy is
a beautiful combination that deserves to be in every home for those more acute, high-tension,
stressful moments. It can quickly create a sense of calm and can be used as often as needed.)  

Magnesium Spray — Think of this as your calming spray. Not only does it assist in digestion and
enzyme activation, magnesium also functions as a stress-reducing mineral due to its ability to aid
in relaxation. Magnesium spray tells the body that it’s time to shift into a state of rest and repair. A
simple spray or two on the belly or feet can do a kiddo wonders. 

Gratitude — My kiddo and I each have a rock that we hold as we think back to our day and say
thanks for the most magical moment. A gratitude practice changes your cellular vitality in a way
that works to prevent chronic illness. Grateful kids are happier kids!

Essential Oil(s) — Use essential oil in the evening to support overall vitality, to work on any surface
issues and/or to simply support rest and relaxation. Remember, one drop goes a long way.

Not included on this list are the specific things that we work on as part of a naturopathic program. They may include a specific herb, or herbal blend, essential oil, homeopathic, cell salt, affirmation, etc., to aid in further healing.
One or More Times Weekly
Gut Health — Optimize gut health by ensuring that lots of prebiotic foods are on the menu. These
includes asparagus, bananas, greens, garlic, raw honey, onions and homemade yogurt. Prebiotics
are essential for feeding your probiotics. Some might say that prebiotics are even more important
that probiotics! Also, include probiotic-rich foods on the menu such as cottage cheese, fermented
veggies, sauerkraut and more delicious homemade yogurt. Bone broth is also a super-nourisher and
can easily be snuck into so many dishes. (Please note, fermented veggies and bone broth are high in
histamines, and some kiddos many have histamine intolerance. If so, please work with a traditional
naturopath to correct before adding in these foods.)

Silica — Silica plays an important role in many body functions and has a direct relationship to
mineral absorption. Silica also helps protect from electromagnetic radiation saturation. In addition,
silica gently pulls aluminum from the brain, so while chemtrails are still at play, supplementing
silica is essential for keeping the heavy metal burden down. I love using silica cell salts 6x (#12) or the
Orgono Living Silica.

Selenium — Selenium is the KEY to your DNA. It also increases the antioxidant capabilities throughout
the entire body. It improves blood flow, lowers inflammation and modulates immune function.
Selenium attaches protective antioxidants (such as glutathione) on to damaged areas of DNA. This
process helps to reduce and repair damaged cellular DNA. Selenium is also the key to activating your
kiddo’s resiliency, especially when it comes to their ability to detox on the daily. One of the best ways
to get in selenium is to add Brazil nuts to your diet (organic and properly prepared, of course)!

Iodine — Iodine is extremely important to the functioning of the body. Every single cell in the body
needs it! And, it’s really, really difficult to get adequate sources of iodine from our food, safely. Iodine
is vital for brain function, healthy nerves and balanced emotions. And just by using iodine, we can
pull up the rest of the minerals in the body. When iodine is low in the body, we lack the ability to
neutralize toxic substances. It also helps protect the brain from the dangers of electromagnetic
radiation. One tiny drop goes a long way when taken in the morning a few times a week with water
or juice.

Detox Bath with Epsom Salt — All kiddos who are no longer nursing should be in a detox bath
weekly to help support the reduction of accumulated toxins. This is such a simple yet powerful and effective way to not only get rid of toxins but promote better sleep, relieve irritability and stress, and
improve focus and brain activity.

Smudging — Burning sage is a beautiful way to cleanse the air of the home (it literally disinfects the
air in a natural way), and it has a powerful medicinal effect on the lungs, nervous system and skin. I
love cleansing our home and bodies by simply burning sage or palo santo at least once week. This is
also a wonderful time to do affirmation work with your child. As you cleanse the not-so-good stuff,
you can call in positive things you desire to see/feel. 
Intermittently
Elderberry Syrup (homemade) — Elderberries prevent the proliferation of viral infections. They so
good at kicking a virus to the curb that the children who take the syrup all the time almost never get
sick. BUT, as I said before, I want my child to get sick because this is an essential part of flexing his
immunity muscles. I use elderberry syrup as needed to prevent illness. It’s especially helpful when
the immune system is already more compromised and/or it’s just not a good time to get sick (like
during the holidays or when getting ready for a vacation).
Monthly
Chiropractic Adjustment — I believe a properly aligned skeletal system (which in turn gives the
nervous system its best chance to be healthy) is such a vital component of prevention and healing.
Realigning the skeletal components of the body allows the nervous system to function in its
normally healthy manner and can simply make it easier for the child’s own innate healing powers
to perform their miracles. Note: One or two appointments per month is a good baseline for
maintenance. The need for chiropractic adjustment can vary in frequency depending on health
targets.
TWO TO FOUR TIMES (OR MORE) A YEAR
Update Naturopathic Program — This is where kiddos really get to shine in all layers of health
because we take the time to unpack and address with a truly custom approach. Even though I specialize in kid care, I often take my child to my colleague to simply get the same uninterrupted time that I give to my clients.

Here’s why this time is so valuable:
We’re able to tap in and add any custom support that’s needed. Are the channels of elimination
working properly? How’s digestion? Amino acids? Are we dehydrated? If so, how much water is
truly needed daily? Are more fats needed? How’s the liver? The spleen? Are we dealing with
parasites? Do we need additional emotional support? What about additional therapies like
craniosacral, energy work, meridian tracing... the list goes on.

We’ll find whatever is currently out of balance and work to achieve homeostasis by incorporating
dietary suggestions, herbs and/or other natural modalities. All living things have a natural ability
to heal themselves. When properly functioning, our bodies promote self-cleansing, self-repair and
self-healing. While modern medicine spends much of its time focused on killing germs, bacteria
and viruses, naturopathy aims to bring the body back into balance, making it strong and resistant
against dis-ease.

Grief

Abnormally severe and/or prolonged sadness and grief is believed, in traditional medicine, to damage the lungs.

The loss of a dear loved one frequently causes pneumonia, chronic coughing and other respiratory ailments.

Rose essential oil is one of the best oils to help with excessive grief and sadness.

Homeopathics:
— Aconite — helps to move through initial shock.
— Ignatia — Primary remedy for grief. Ignatia is indicated in acute grief events, for deep emotional shocks and especially the loss of loved ones.
— Natrum Mur — when grief becomes chronic. A kiddo who needs this remedy will be inconsolable with prolonged weeping spells — sympathy from others will often make things worse. This kiddo may often seek solitude and cry in loneliness. Additional communications are anxiety and indifference to life. The mind will be busy with thoughts of the unpleasant memories that trigger the grief.
— Phosphoric Acid — for cases of sadness and grief associated with weakness and tiredness. Complete indifference to everything and extreme loss of weight are other symptoms. The person has no interest in life and the outside world. In addition, they do not want to go out — they will desire to remain inside the house and will not want to talk to others.

Nature Sunshine’s Chinese Formula Lung Support is helpful for protecting and healing lungs in someone suffering from severe grief.

Extra B-complex vitamins and adaptogen herbs like ashwagandha, licorice root and holy basil are helpful to keep grief from turning into depression. CBD oil may also be balancing to the nervous system.

1. Silver fillings are approximately 40 to 50% mercury.
2. Mercury continuously comes out of the fillings in the lethal vapor form.
3. Any stimulation to the fillings, e.g., chewing, grinding, drinking hot liquids, etc. increases the amount of
vapor coming from the fillings.

MERCURY AMALGAM REMOVAL
Mercury is a deadly poison and an oxidant catalyst, and removing even one filling from a person who is
already ill, or is unknowingly near his or her toxic threshold can possibly make that individual worse unless
correct safety precautions are used.

These safety precautions encompass procedures such as having the patient breathe oxygen during removal,
using large amounts of water throughout the removal, and using a rubber dam, etc. Of utmost importance is the need to address the patient’s level of toxicity and balance the patient’s body chemistry PRIOR to start-
ing the removal process.

TESTING FOR TOXIC ACCUMULATION
Amalgam fillings should never be removed without adequate testing. First, your dentist (or healthcare practitioner) needs to evaluate how your body is currently handling the poison it has already absorbed. Are your tissues and mesenchyme so overloaded with toxins that you cannot excrete mercury or other toxins adequately? Are your liver and kidneys strong enough to handle the extra burden? Taking a detailed symptom history is extremely valuable.

Some supplements with vitamins, minerals, and homeopathics is necessary to help balance the chemistry to facilitate excretion, and to protect against the increased exposure resulting from the removal and the ensuing dumping of mercury.

When it comes to amalgam removal, we have to consider the results of toxic accumulation. Often we can
point to a direct effect; other times we can’t. In all cases it is wise to remove toxic metals from the mouth
with caution. Too often, by the time people make an appointment to have their fillings removed, they are
seriously ill or plagued with confusing symptoms for which no one can seem to find a diagnosis or solution.

THE MESENCHYME – THE INVISIBLE SCAFFOLDING
Everyone knows we are made of cells. Have you ever wondered what holds the cells together? The “scaffolding” which performs this function is called the mesenchyme. Imagine a tiled floor and think of the grout as mesenchyme and the tiles as the cells. The mesenchyme is also known as interstitial tissue, or the ground substance. Your arterioles, venules, capillaries, lymphatics and nerve endings are found within the mesenchyme. It is in this interstitial tissue that the exchange of nutrients and waste takes place.

Nosebleeds (Epistaxis – pronounced ep-ih-STAK-seez)

Proper hydration is SO important when it comes to nose bleed communication.

Other common causes:
— Dry, heated, indoor air can dry out the nasal membranes, causing them to become cracked and prone to bleeding when rubbed or picked when blowing the nose (especially during winter months)
— Living in a dry, hot, low-humidity climate, which can dry out the mucus membranes
— Harsh nose picking or nose blowing
— Upper respiratory infections and sinusitis
— Inserting foreign object into the nose
— Injury to the nose and/or face
— Allergic and non-allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal lining)

— Sit down, lean forward and squeeze the soft middle area of the nose using the index finger and thumb to close the nostrils.
— Continue to pinch this area for no less than 5 minutes, ideally 10 to 15. If you release and blood is still coming out, repeat. Remember to breathe calmly through an open mouth while pinching the nostrils shut.
— And/OR – Bayberry and capsicum capsules can be opened and placed directly on the tongue. 
— To help strengthen capillaries and prevent nose bleeds, use vitamin c with bioflavonoids.

If there is a nosebleed after a fit of anger or accompanied by vomiting and nausea, Arsenicum album is likely your remedy.

Belladonna: Belladonna is recommended for children with nosebleeds that occur during fever at night. Belladonna is also effective when the nosebleeds in bed or on waking in the morning. Elderly people who sneeze a lot leading up to nosebleed can take Carbo veg. They feel very fatigued and want cold air on them or want to be fanned. 

Cina, Ferrum Phos, Hamamelis: These homeopathic remedies for nose bleeding are used for children who have a constant desire to rub or pick into the nose, which damages the nasal mucosa. Ferrum Phos is recommended if the person is pale, flushed, feels weak and feverish. When there are frequent nosebleeds due to a friable capillary in the nostril accompanied by engorged veins in the legs, then use Hamamelis (witch hazel).

Kali Bich: Effective nose bleeding homeopathy medicine after a cold, preceded by pressure and tightness at the root of the nose. 

Phosphorus is helpful when profuse, bright red blood flows freely and will not clot, whereas Pulsatilla is for constitutional people with nasal polyps that cause nosebleeds.

Radiation Support

Interesting fact: Radiation fallout from Fukushima’s nuclear power plant has spread across the planet and it is believed that it may be on the causative list of biliary dyskinesia/stasis (AKA: gallbladder pain)

When the body is exposed to radiation, cellular DNA is damaged, and a toxic condition is created in the body. X-rays, radon, microwave ovens, radar and radiation treatment for cancer are among the ways the body can be exposed to radiation. 
 
Radiation poisoning or radiation sickness is damage to organ tissue caused by excessive exposure to ionizing radiation in a short period like a CT brain scan. 
 
Radiation poisoning can lead to brain damage and cancer. Severe radiation poisoning is fatal 50% of the time.
 
Radiation poisoning is usually associated with acute exposure and has its own set of symptoms. Chronic exposure is usually associated with delayed medical problems such as cancer and premature aging, which may happen over a period of time. The risk of cancer depends on the dose and begins to build up even with very low doses.
The severity of symptoms and acute radiation poisoning depends on the type of radiation and the amount of radiation, how long you were exposed and which part of the body was exposed. 
 
Symptoms of radiation sickness may occur immediately after exposure or over the next few days, weeks or months.

TOP MINERALS: IODINE, BORON, SELENIUM
One of the most important supplements to take when one has been or will be exposed to radiation is iodine as this will protect the thyroid against radioactive iodine. We love the “backroom iodine” that we carry in the shop. Dulse is another great option. 
 
Boron is also wonderful for radiation protection. Consider it a powerful neutralizer. 
 
Selenium has a well-documented ability to mitigate the harm of radiation exposure, backed by research on its ability to help cancer patients survive the damaging radioactive side effects of chemotherapy.
 
All forms of mineralization (in addition to the focus above) will improve the body's ability to mitigate the stress of radiation. Daily herbal infusions, cell salts, Concentrace mineral drops and Real Salt are all forms of radiation protection.

TRS
TRS can also be super supportive. TRS is a Zeolite – Zeolite can trap toxins and escort them out of the body. It has a negative charge and a unique structure of porous microparticles. Because of this, it can trap positively charged ions (toxins) and free radicals and remove them from your body, acting as a molecular sieve.
 
This is how TRS (Zeolite) helps to eliminate radiation poisoning (such as x-rays and medical scans). In Japan and Russia, after the nuclear disasters, zeolite was used to clear contaminated water and fields. It was added to food to detoxify children who were exposed to radiation.

Y.E.S. is a highly beneficial blend of flower essences and plant tinctures in a sea salt base. Its purpose is to strengthen and protect against toxic environmental influences, geopathic stress and other hazards of technology-dominated modern life. This includes the disruptive effects of radiation on human energy fields from X-rays, televisions, computer monitors, cellular phones, electromagnetic fields, airplane flights, radiation treatments and contamination from nuclear power plants or fall-out.
 
HOMEMADE RECIPE
— Mix 3.5 grams of real salt with 100 ml of distilled or R/O water. Use this solution as the base for your flower essences. 
— In a 10 ml dropper bottle, combine 2 drops of each of the following Bach Flower Remedies: Cherry Plum, Gentian, Rock Rose, Star of Bethlehem, Vine, Walnut and Wild Oat. 
— Top off the bottle with the sea salt solution. 

Take 2 drops, 3 to 4 times a day, or add 10 to 15 drops to a bath. 

People who have been exposed to radiation sources such as x-rays or other medical radiation therapies, or who have been contaminated in an escape from a nuclear power station, or who regularly use office or domestic equipment that gives off low-level radiation would do well to use this formula in a bath once or twice a week.

— Melrose – Melrose may help protect the body during radiation treatments if used 10 days before, during and 10 days after. Do not use the day of radiation treatment. 
— Patchouli
— Melaleuca quinquenervia – a massage with this oil could help to prevent radiation side effects of radiation treatment. Remember to keep all massage light and away from the trauma area.
— Recipe for radiation treatment:
   — Use at least 2 to 3 weeks before radiation treatments begin. Don’t use during treatment but use it in between treatments and for at least a month after the last treatment.
    — 10 drops of lavender, 5 drops German chamomile, 5 drops Roman chamomile, 5 drops tagetes, 5 drops yarrow and 2 tsp. vinca infused oil. Massage the entire torso, including the back and abdomen and the trauma area. This treatment should not conflict.
— NOTE: In cases of radiation and chemotherapy, tremendous amounts of toxicity can be produced within the liver. Cut down on the use of oils with high phenol content to prevent increasing liver toxicity.

An inflamed swelling of a sebaceous gland at the margin of the eyelid is called a stye. The bacteria typically linked with stye formation is staphylococcus.

Benefits of Steaming for Women 
Vaginal steam baths bring moist heat to the womb and perineum, softening the tissues it comes in contact with. The use of specific herbs adds layers of different healing benefits, depending on the health condition being treated; to nourish, tone, bring in fresh oxygenated blood, and promote uterine cleansing. The water vapor carries the medicinal benefits of the plants, including volatile oils. This is absorbed into the tissues and enters the bloodstream, having a direct healing benefit on the reproductive system since vaginal tissue is one of the most absorbent in the female body. 

Conditions where the V steam is indicated are uterine fibroids, painful menstruation, uterine weakness, uterine prolapse, irregular menstrual cycles, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, reproductive adhesion/scar tissue, previous vaginal tear or episiotomy, and dark purple or brown blood at the onset or end of menses.

How To Do Your P or V Steams 
You will need:
— A slatted chair or modified stool/chair to let steam through, preferably one made from natural materials such as wood, canvas, or bamboo. You may also use a clean toilet or place the steam beneath you while relaxing in the yoga posture called “child’s pose.”
— Two large, natural-fiber blankets.
— A stainless steel saucepan large enough to boil 3 to 4 L. If using the toilet, you need a large heat-proof ceramic or glass bowl to pour the hot herbal tea into.
— A cup of dried herbs or a large jar loosely filled with fresh herbs. 

Instructions:
1. Place your chair, blanket and whatever else you may want in a location that will be comfortable.
— If using a chair, place a cutting board under the chair, or place the chair on a tile floor to resist heat.
— If utilizing “child’s pose,” Place cutting board, pot holder or towels where needed to resist heat.
— If you are using a toilet, lift the seat.
2. Have a glass of water, music and reading material set up in advance. Be sure you are not wearing underwear and are wearing a warm, natural fiber top.
3. Softly simmer your herbal mixture (tea) for 5 to 10 minutes. Turn the heat off and let tea steep for 5 minutes.
— If using a chair, place your pot or bowl under the chair/stool.
— If using the toilet, transfer tea to your bowl, place this inside the toilet and lower the seat.
— If utilizing child’s pose, transfer tea to your bowl and place on the ground.
4. Don’t sit down until the steam is comfortable for you.
5. Cover your entire lower half, all the way to the ground, with the first blanket. Make a tent all around the chair/toilet, to keep the steam in.
6. Wrap the second blanket, duvet around the upper half of your body. Keep it wrapped around you and stay warm.
7. Steam for 20 to 30 minutes.
8. Keep warm. Go to bed for one hour. Resting afterward is important so that the blood, which has been encouraged to the pelvic area, can circulate back around the body to complete the cleansing cycle. 


Cautions 
You should not do a steam if you have any of the following (without practitioner/health care guidance): extremely heavy menstrual cycles, a wound, sores, blisters, pregnancy or if you think you may be pregnant. You should not steam during your period or during an active infection.
